Teach Tech to Teachers

Background 

Technology is new to the Bhutanese. The inclusion of IT in the teacher training programs is very basic and at the growing stage. Teachers in particular are not confident to push themselves for the 21st century urge.
Teaching paradigm, methods, and skills must change. The Bhutanese  teachers cannot escape the urge of the 21st century digital natives.
The time has come for the remote and traditional teachers to change and bring 21st century teacher in the classroom without overstepping the country's age old cultures.
Bhutan is changing at the staggering speed to match the global development. The future of the country as every leader speaks, lies in the hands of today's children. To bring these children to the good play ground and  to make them the world class players, today's teachers, the steering holder cannot stay behind and use the same teaching paraphernalia used some ten twenty years ago.
Internet, computers and modern gadgets have come to Bhutan. It is time to embrace them and put into daily practice.
This is a self erected and initiated teacher development program. Future is big for this project as no one will escape the technological tsunami in future.

This project though utilizes an expensive gadgets has no funding.

Rationale
Make teachers connected to the global cultural interactions by Bringing 21st century education to the Bhutanese classroom so that any diversities in the learners are well respected.
This 'Teach Tech to Teachers' is an ambitious move to give all the teachers the global platform and resources to be 21st century web, tech, tool knowledgeable teachers.
This innovation intends  to change the environment of teaching paradigm and practices in the Bhutanese classrooms through the provision of IT and tech lessons, web browsing experiences, teaching tool use orientations, media use drills and recognition of their contribution through web display and emailing them their good performances and connect the remote teachers who are connected to Internet to global educational discussions and handouts.
This initiative is designed and planned for bringing a smooth teacher transition to this globalized world that the final recipient of the innovation- students are well prepared for future challenges. 
Above all, it is to take teachers to the global education forum and make each teacher understand how to work with global cultural diversity through the provision of knowledge on the web based teacher associations and slowly pushing them to be the members of educational organizations like global education conference, global classrooms, teacher 2.0, global library and other teacher and teaching related websites.


Features

From collaborative thinking and core GNH values,  through to innovation ready for change and sustainability, we challenge accepted thinking and influence policy. Our team work innovatively to bring better and workable systems for Greener and Cleaner School.

Use of modern media to bring globally respected resources by my teachers is my aim.



In future
I would like to establish IT park for teachers.this park will be packed with content, courses, platforms for tech for teachers. With the mobilization of basic skills the project aims to move forward in connecting my teachers to the global forum.

Implementation 

Organize and lead the Teacher Professional Development Program.
Start with the basics of what this century is all about.
Slowly invoke interest in digital handling.
Then, provide IT facilities.
Provide technical expertise to IT exploration.
In courage the teachers to use emails and mail addresses.
Create a global platform to display their good work.
Invite each teacher at the google hangout at the school level and demonstrate them how this application can be used in teaching field.
Encourage the teachers to open up to the digitalization and invite them to various global educational family.
Encourage the remote teachers to interact with the global leaders in education through the provision of web addresses and invitations.
Encourage the use of computers at work, teaching, planning, making rubrics, displaying videos, browsing web contents.
